You will receive a registration number from the state police once your application is processed; please remember to text your ID number to the SORA100 instructor at 732-207-2357 before your scheduled class.

3. From the same NJSP SORA website, please make an appointment for fingerprints. The fingerprinting location will ask you to pay $67 on the day of your appointment.

(If you do not have a current license, the state police will charge $75 for a first time SORA license and $66 for the fingerprints) SORA100 charges a $75 fee to process your armed license conversion.

A background check is conducted as part of the process for SORA certification. Individuals are prohibited from receiving SORA certification for crimes involving moral turpitude, controlled substances and any 4th degree crime or greater will prohibit an individual from receiving SORA certification.
