    1. Visit the New Jersey State Police website to register for a regular or armed license, which cost $75. https://eapps.njsp.org/applicant/logon.do

    2. Visit sora100.com/classes to view upcoming classes, then pay the $125 registration fee to attend a class. You will receive a registration number from the state police once your application is processed; please remember to text your ID number to the SORA100 instructor at 732-207-2357 before your scheduled class.

    3. From the same NJSP SORA website, please make an appointment for fingerprints. The fingerprinting location will ask you to pay $67 on the day of your appointment.

    All SORA100 classes are currently being held Virtually/Zoom

    Note: NJSP can require you to submit a new application if you fail to complete the fingerprinting and/or SORA training class within 30 days.

    1. Visit the state police website that you registered on to apply for the armed security officer certification. They will issue you an application ID number for the armed license. https://eapps.njsp.org/applicant/logon.do Send the ID number you receive to contact@sora100.com, as proof of application. Our team request a government ID to verify your identity, then we can submit the documentation to convert your license.

    2. Your photo and training results from classes previously completed with SORA100’s will remain valid; no additional class time is required if your SORA license is current. (If you do not have a current license, the state police will charge $75 for a first time SORA license and $66 for the fingerprints) SORA100 charges a $75 fee to process your armed license conversion.

  • Yes, if you received a 30-day temporary certificate, you can work as a security officer while completing your three steps.  Once the 30 day period is over, you must cease working until your remaining steps are complete.

  • A background check is conducted as part of the process for SORA certification. Individuals are prohibited from receiving SORA certification for crimes involving moral turpitude, controlled substances and any 4th degree crime or greater will prohibit an individual from receiving SORA certification.
